Welcome to Creativity Rocks!

Family and friends, I would like to thank you all for your support and kindness while helping me on a path to success. As a person with autism and Tourette’s Syndrome, my journey has not been easy. My love of puppets and filmmaking lead to me learning how to sew with creativity shell.  I will continue to use my sewing skills to make my own puppets & costumes for my films!

I love fashion!! I also love theater! I learned to sew when I was 6years old. I joined creativity shell pretty soon after. It’s been a long journey that’s taken me through space, dinosaurs, carnival, battle of the bands and now the Met Gala!! In the future I want to design costumes for theater productions and own my own photography business! Thank you Creativity shell for giving me this opportunity!

"Ever since I was a little girl, twirling in my tutu skirts and princess heels, I have always expressed myself through my style. I knew from a young age that fashion was forever going to be important to me. Upon attending my first class at the Creativity Shell, I knew I found my community, my people. The Creativity Shell allowed me to expand my skills and sewing capabilities every year. Starting with simple projects, I have learned everything from quilting to creating ball gowns. And I do not plan on stopping there. I plan to follow my passion as far as the moon. After school, I intend to attend fashion design school in New York City, where I will start my own fashion studio and become an entrepreneur. I know these goals will require hard work, but I am excited to see where I take it, especially since I have the foundation of the Creativity Shell supporting me. I hope one day that my business makes my teachers at Creativity Shell proud and show the world that we don't need no man's money!"

I have been doing Creativity Shell for almost six years now and it has been wonderful! When I started, I hadn’t ever used a sewing machine before and had no idea what to do. The teachers there helped me learn, complete projects, and eventually, create outfits for five fashion shows. While I plan to have a different career as an adult, I will never forget these amazing skills and will certainly use them for the rest of my life.

At 4 years old I had my first experience with Creativity Shell; I was a flower girl for Jerry and Sherry's bus wedding! After that I was hooked and was able to register for homeschool sewing and cooking classes. The first thing I ever made was a pencil case which I still have. I also keep my Love Bug in my room. It was the first of several stuffies I made. One of my best memories was creating Blind Bags for Munchkin Market. I was able to earn enough money for my dad's Christmas present. The fashion shows have been the most fun. My first year I even did a cartwheel on stage. Everyone thought I was too shy, but I did it. Thank you to all of the teachers and Mrs. Shelancia for providing this opportunity. 

I LOVE sewing! I would always watch my grandma sew and that started it all for me! I started in Creativity Shell in 1st grade and have had a lot of fun experiences, even if it's just sitting in the bus listening to music. In the future I would like to continue sewing, and maybe become a designer. I enjoy getting to take home a project each week and show my parents what I made, then seeing them smile .  I'm so excited to be on the Golden Runway this year
